Representative
personality of Romanian musical life, Petre
Sbarcea was the student of the maestros Antonin
Ciolan and Sergiu Celibidache. He perfected his
conducting art in Italy, France and the United
States of America. From 1957 to 1976, he was
the conductor of the Romanian Opera in Cluj -
Napoca (and became director of the Opera in 1992).
He has been teaching orchestra conducting at “Gh.
Dima” Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca since 1960.
Between 1976-1990, he was manager and head
conductor of the State Philharmonic of Sibiu.
Today he is still the head conductor of the
Philharmonic. With an impressive number of
recordings, Petre Sbarcea has collaborated with
all of the Philharmonics and Operas in Romania and
has had many successful tours in Germany, Hungary,
France, Iran, Bulgaria, Austria, Belgium, Russia,
Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy,
Luxembourg and the Republic of Moldavia. His
artistic activity was rewarded with numerous
awards, among them: The “Cultural Virtue” of
Romania, “Mascagni” Medal - Italy, a “Lifetime
Achievement Award” given by the Union of the
Artists, Choreographers and Music Critics of
Romania in 1998 etc. On March 1st 2003, the
President of Romania awarded him knight and the
“Faithful Service” National Order.

CONDUCTOR
Born in
1970, in Riggisberg (Switzerland), Kaspar Zehnder
began his formation at the Conservatory in Bern.
He then continued his studies at the Music Academy
in the same town. In 1991, he obtained his
Orchestra and Opera Conductor diploma and in 1992
he received a Flute Teaching diploma and was
awarded first prize for virtuosity (flute). He
conducted many symphonic orchestras in
Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Poland,
Hungary, the Check Republic, Slovakia and Romania.
He is a member of the European Mozart Academy,
president of the “Johannes Brahms” Society,
artistic director of both the Summer Festival in
Morat and the chamber music concerts in
Hondrich/Thun.

FRANCE ARTISTIC ASSOCIATED MANAGER
Having
studied at the National Superior Conservatory in
Paris and at the Monte-Carlo Opera, Francois
Robert – Girolami was asked on various occasions
during his career to conduct the National Opera
Orchestra in Monte-Carlo, the National Orchestra
in Haiffa, the Radio Orchestra in Zagreb, the
Symphonic Orchestras in Florence, Castillia Leon,
Avignon, Marseilles and Nancy. A very good
connoisseur of the Italian and French lyrical
repertoire, he conducted the great opera works of
Rossini, Verdi, Puccini and Bizet. He conducted
vocal and symphonic works of Mozart, Verdi,
Donizetti, Puccini, recorded contemporary works
for Radio-France and conducted concerts for
television channels in France, the Netherlands and
Spain. | |

Born in Romania, Cristian Florea was
considered a great musical talent since his first public
shows, which was then confirmed by the numerous awards
he received at all international performance
competitions: Belgrad, Colmar - 1978, Geneva - 1979,
München (ARD) – 1982 and others. Soloist of the
orchestra in Tonhalle, of the opera in Zürich and of the
Radio Symphonic Orchestra in Baden-Baden, he had a very
productive teaching career in Freiburg, Breisgau and
Trotzingen (Germany). He held concerts and cello
recitals in most European countries and in the United
States of America; he recorded on disc and CD for radio
and television. Some of the most important works in the
cello literature are part of his repertoire. As
conductor, soloist and manager, he worked with symphonic
orchestras from Madrid, Barcelona (Spain), with “George
Enescu” Philharmonic in Bucharest, the Philharmonic of
Monterrey (Mexico), with “The Prague Soloists” (the
Check Republic), “The Montpellier Soloists” (France),
the National Chamber Orchestra (the Republic of
Moldovia), the Philharmonic in Ploiesti and the
Philharmonic in Sibiu, as well as others. He founded his
own orchestra – “Kammerorchester Cristian Florea” in
Freiburg (Germany) and is currently founder and manager
of Orquestra Simfònica
Europea.
